Benefits of Sleeping According to Sunnah in the Light of Medical Science:

Today science tells us the best sleeping position, medical science tells us that its healthy to sleep on your back or on your right side which we (muslims) were told by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him).

Sleeping on the right side does not let the weight of stomach and intestine to suppress heart, hence blood circulation is not affected.

By sleeping on the right side, the heart remains on the topside, one will not have a deep sleep. A little noise can prepare someone to face any contingency. It also develops the habit of early morning rise.

Sitting and rubbing the eyes for a while after awaking adjusts the heartbeat according to the new posture, hence it has positive impact on the heart.

Napping after lunch helps to prevent burden on coronary artery. According to cardiologists, having a nap after lunch produces positive effects on heart.

Imam Shafi states that there are 4 types of sleep:

To lie on the back-this is the sleep of the Prophet's .

To sleep on the right side-this is the sleep of the Worshippers. (us!)

To sleep on the left side-this is the sleep of the rulers.

To sleep on the stomach-this is the sleep of the devil.

[Related by Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood.]
Hazrat Aishah reports:
“The mattress the Prophet used to sleep on was made of hide, stuffed with fiber.”

Benefits of Avoiding Soft Bed in the Light of Medical Science:
Backache is often caused by regular use of soft bed as the muscles of back are loosened. The pain gets aggravated on continuous use. Extremely soft and comfortable bed can lead to the inflammation of ureters, hence kidney diseases can be prevented by not using soft bed. The use of soft bed can reduce the gap between the vertebrae. The experts don’t recommend it. Infants using soft bed can suffer from deformity of bones, which may lead to disability.

It is Sunnah to dust off the bed before sleeping

[Al-Bukhaari (6320) and Muslim (2714)]
Narrated by Abu Hurrairah:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When one of you goes to his bed, let him dust off his bed with the inside of his lower garment, for he does not know what came onto it after he left it. Then let him say: Bismika Rabbee wada’tu janbi wa bika arfa’uhu wa in amsakta nafsi farhamhaa wa in arsaltahaa fahfazhaa bimaa tuhfaz bihi ‘ibaadika al-saaliheen ( In Your name, my Lord, I lie down, and in Your name I rise. If you should take my soul then have mercy on it, and if You should return my soul then protect it as You protect Your righteous slaves).”

It's forbidden and not recommended to sleep on Stomach:

Ya’eesh ibn Tihfah al-Ghifaari reported that his father said:
“I stayed as a guest with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with those of the poor whom he hosted. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out in the night to check up on his guests, and saw me lying on my stomach. He prodded me with his foot and said, ‘Do not lie in this manner, for it is a way of lying that Allah hates.’” According to another report, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prodded him with his foot and woke him up, and said, “Do not lie like this, for this is how the people of Hell lie.”
(Reported by Ahmad, al-Fath al-Rabbaani, 14/244-245; by al-Tirmidhi, no. 2798, Shaakir edn.; and by Abu Dawood, al-Sunan, Kitaab al-Adab, no. 5040, al-Da’aas edn. Also reported in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 2270-2271).

(Surah Al-‘Ahzab Ch:33 V:21)

“There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.”

- In the present day science tells us that it’s best to sleep on the right side or back and not lying on the left side and stomach. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him) was aware of this back in his time. Beyond doubt he is the best example for us all to follow for all time.

Which food is forbidden for Muslims:

[ Al-Qur’an ]
The third verse of chapter 5 (sūrat l-māidah) (The Table spread with Food)

Forbidden to you (as food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked (Puja Food - Prasadam ETC); that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a... wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression (not by will, to sin), Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

Islamic Concept of Dreams:

Based on revelation 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) identified the three primary sources for dreams:

1. Divine(True/Good Dreams),
2. Satanic(Bad Dreams-Never Share with others), and
3. Human(Dreams from one's self ).

He also described the main characteristics of each category in order that his followers would be able to distinguish between them and understand how they may affect their day-to-day lives.
Aboo Hurayrah narrated that Allaah’s Messenger (Pbuh) said:
“There are three types of dreams : a righteous dream which is glad tidings from Allaah; the dream which causes sadness is from satan; and a dream from the ramblings of the mind.” (Sahih Muslim)

1.True/Good Dreams:
We can see true dreams are from Allah Ta'aala as Muhammad (S) said, "True dreams are from Allah, and bad dreams are from Shaitan." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

True believers are more likely to happen to those who are truthful in their lives as Muhammad (S) said, "Those of you with the truest dreams will be those who are most truthful in speech" (Sahih Muslim)

Good dreams are also from Allah Ta'aala. Prophet Muhammad (S) said, "If anyone of you has a dream that he likes then it is from Allah. He should thank Allah for it and narrate it to others." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) Good deeds consist of people doing Halaal (lawful) acts.

One should share their dreams with those they like as Muhammad (S) said, "If one sees a good dream, let him expect good, and not tell it except to those he likes." (Muslim) An example of this is Yaqoob (AS) telling his son, Yusuf (AS) concerning his dream about eleven stars and the sun and the moon prostrating to him (scholars have said the eleven stars were his brothers, and the sun and the moon represented his mother and father): "He said, "O my son! Relate not your vision to your brothers lest they arrange a plot against you. Verily! Satan is to man an open enemy." (Surah Yusuf 12:5) We know the half-brothers of Yusuf were jealous of him to begin with so telling them the dream would probably only serve to increase the jealousy.

Muhammad (S) also told us, "Nothing is left of prophethood except glad tidings." Those with him asked, "What are glad tidings?" He (S) replied, "Good dreams." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

2.Bad Dreams:
As stated above bad dreams are from Shaitan. Muhammad (S) told us what to do upon seeing a bad dream. "So when one of you sees a dream which he does not like, he should spit on his left side three times, seek refuge with Allah from Shaitan thrice, and change the side which he was lying (Sahih Muslim) and in another narration in Muslim, Muhammad (S) told us if we spit three times and seek refuge from Allah then it (the dream) will not harm them." (Sahih Muslim)

Muhammad (S) also told us that if we saw a bad dream to "stand up and offer prayer." (Sahih Muslim)

Bad Dreams Should Not Be Disclosed
Muhammad (S) said, ...If he has a dream that he dislikes, then it is from Shaitan. He should seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and he SHOULD NOT MENTION IT TO ANYBODY, then it will not harm him." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) If one does tell somebody about the bad dream then there could be the chance that some harm will come out of it.

3.Dreams from One's Self:
These dreams come from one's thoughts and are neither from Allah or Shaitan.

Lying About Dreams:
Prophet Muhammad (S) said, "Indeed the worst of lies is that of a person who falsely claims to have dream." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) also 'Whoever claims to have dream which he did not have, will be ordered to tie two barley grains together, which he will never be able to do; and if somebody eavesdrop on some people's conversation which they didn't want him to hear or they tried to keep away from him, then molten lead will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection; and whosoever makes a picture (of a being with a soul) will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and (will) be ordered to put a soul in it, which he will not be able to do." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

This is beneficial to all that reads it, and it will erase some misconceptions people have about dreams. It is also hoped this will stop some practices people do upon seeing good or bad dreams which are not found in the Qur'an or Sunnah.

Anything correct is from Allah Ta'aala and anything incorrect is from myself.

Is Celebrating Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) birthday allowed in Islam??

Praise be to ALLAH alone, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his companions, and whoever follows his guidance.

There is nothing in the Qur'an to say that we should celebrate the Mawlid or birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet himself (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not do this or command anyone to do it, either during his lifetime or after his death. Indeed, he told them not to exaggerate about him as the Christians had exaggerated about Jesus (upon whom be peace). He said: "Do not exaggerate about me as the Christians exaggerated about the son of Maryam. I am only a slave, so say, ‘The slave of Allah and His Messenger.’" (Reported by al-Bukhari). What has been reported is that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made the day of his birth a day of worship, which is different to celebration. He was asked about fasting on Mondays, and he said: "That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I was entrusted with the Mission or when I was first given Revelation." (Reported by Muslim, al-Nisaa’i and Abu Dawood).

Moreover, we know that the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them) were the people who loved the Prophet most. Was it reported that Abu Bakr, who was the closest of people to him and the one who loved him the most, celebrated the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? Was it reported that ‘Umar, who ruled for twelve years, or ‘Uthmaan, did this? Was it reported that ‘Ali, his relative and foster son, did this? Was it reported that any of the Sahaabah did this? No, by Allah! Is it because they were not aware of its importance, or did they not truly love the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? No one would say such a thing except one who has gone astray and is leading others astray.

Did any of the imams – Abu Haneefah, Maalik, al-Shaafi’i, Ahmad, al-Hasan al-Basri, Ibn Seereen – do this or command others to do it or say that it was good? By Allah, no! It was not even mentioned during the first and best three centuries. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said in a Sahih hadith: "The best of mankind are my generation (or my century), then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then there will come a people who will not care if their testimony comes before their oath or vice versa (i.e., they will not take such matter seriously)." (Reported by al-Bukhari, Muslim and al-Tirmidhi). The celebration of the Prophet’s birthday appeared many centuries later, when many of the features of true religion had vanished and bid’ah had become widespread.

Some of them think that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) actually attends the mawlid celebration, so they stand up to greet and welcome him. This is a serious falsehood and a form of gross ignorance. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) will not come out of his grave, or contact anybody, or attend any gatherings. He will remain in his grave until the Day of Resurrection, and his soul is in the highest ‘Illiyoon (in Paradise), with his Lord in the abode of honour, as Allah says in Surat al-Mu’minoon (interpretation of the meaning): "After that, surely, you will die. Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection" [al-Mu’minoon 23:15].

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I will be the first whose grave will be opened on the Day of Resurrection, and I will be the first to intercede and the first to be asked to intercede." May Allah bless him and grant him peace. This ayah and ahaadeeth, and others that say the same thing, all indicate that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and everyone else who has died will only emerge from their graves on the Day of Resurrection. This is something on which all the Muslim scholars agree; there is no controversy here. Every Muslim should pay attention to these matters and be careful to avoid the innovations and illusions introduced with no authority from Allah by those who are ignorant. Allah is the One whom we ask for help, and in Him we put our trust. There is no power and no strength except with Him.

Thus this celebration became a sign of one’s love for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? But can it be possible that the Sahaabah, the imams and the people of the best three centuries were unaware of it, and it was only those who came later who were aware of its importance?! What the Qur'an tells us is that love of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is demonstrated by following the guidance he brought. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Say (O Muhammad): ‘If you (really) love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Say: ‘Obey Allah and the Messenger.’ But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers." [Aal ‘Imraan 3:31-32]

The first ayah explains that love is just a claim, but the proof of sincerity is following what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) brought. The second ayah reaffirms the importance and necessity of obeying Allah and His Messenger. Hence Allah ended the ayah with a very stern warning in which those who refuse to obey are described as kaafirs, and Allah does not love the disbelievers. We ask Allah to keep us safe from that. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told us of the danger of not obeying him, and the danger of adding to what he brought. The celebration of Mawlid or his birthday is indeed an addition to what he brought – as all the scholars agree. He said: "The best of speech is the Book of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The most evil of things are those which are newly-invented (in religion), and every innovation is a going astray." (Reported by Muslim and al-Nisaa’i).

So it should be clear to anyone who has the slightest common sense, sincere desire for the truth and open-mindedness, that celebrating the birthday of the Prophet is not a part of Islam; it is an innovation, which Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) warned us against and told us to shun. A wise person should not be swayed by the fact that so many people all over the world do this.

"And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah's path. They follow nothing but conjectures, and they do nothing but lie." [al-An’aam 6:116]

We ask Allah to help us and all the Muslims to understand His religion and adhere to it, to bless us all by making us follow the Sunnah, and to protect us from bid’ah, for He is the Most Kind and Generous. May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad, and his family and companions.

In the name of ALLAH.. the most Beneficent, the ever Merciful..

This blog is for people who know n want to know more about ISLAM. So Plz do comment with your valuable suggestions for this blog. And if u find something wrong, plz feel free to correct me.

Islam is the universal religion n its the duty of every Muslim to spread this religion of truth to every 1 but unfortunately most of us shy away from our duties.

Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) says: “There should be a number of you who actively call people to righteousness; who encourage goodness and forbid evil. These are the ones who shall prosper.” [Al-Qur’an 3:104]

“Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are evil-livers” [Al-Qur’an 3:110]

“And who is better in speech than he who invites (all) to Allah and does righteous deeds and says, ’I am one of the Muslims” [Al-Qur’an 41:33]

“Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord, with wisdom and beautiful preaching's, and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious!” [Al-Qur’an 16:125]

Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Convey this Message, even if it is one sentence (ayah).” [Fath al-Bari(Bukhari), 6/496, Kitab hadith al-anbiya’]

“Learn the required precepts of Islam and the Qur'an, then teach them to others, for I will not live forever.” [Bukhari]

“Whoever calls people to the truth will have a reward like that of those who follow him, without it detracting in the least from their reward.” [Sahih Muslim, 16/227, Kitab al-’ilm]

“May Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) make his face shine, the one who hears something from us and conveys it as he hears it, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed will understand it better than the one who conveyed it.” [Reported by Tirmidhi, 5/34, in Kitab al-’ilm]

A man stood up whilst the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was on the minbar and asked: “O Messenger of Allah, which of the people is the best?” He said, “The best of the people are those are most well-versed in Qur’an, those who are most pious, those who most enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, and those who are most respectful towards their relatives.” [Reported by Ahmad and al-Tabarani; the men of their isnads are thiqat. See Majma’ al-Zawa’id, 7/263]
